State Member for Redlands Peter Dowling confirmed this week that the Government has granted two Redlands’ organisations funding towards sport and recreation involvement as part of the Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Program, Toward Q2: Tomorrow’s Queensland focus.
“I am pleased to have official confirmation from Minister Phil Reeves, Minister for Child Safety and Minister for Sport, that Redland City Council and the Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club have both received funding under Round 3 of the Queensland Government’s Sport and Infrastructure Program.
“I have campaigned tirelessly to support both of these grant applications, and I also had the chance recently to discuss it with the Minister face-to-face, to discuss positive benefits for these organisations and the community in the Redlands if the funding was approved.” said Mr Dowling.
The Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Program supports local communities with the promotion of sport and recreation involvement, by developing appropriate spaces and places for participation to become a healthier and more active community.
“The community will benefit from this funding and I look forward to the Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club and Redland City Council keeping me updated on the great outcomes these grants will generate for the Redlands.”
