The Bligh Labor Government has failed yet another group of Pine Rivers residents with recent bus route and timetable changes, Mr Seath Holswich said today.
Mr Holswich is taking up the fight against the Labor State Government with residents in Kentwood Drive, Bray Park who want to see the 670 bus route removed from their street.
“Kentwood Drive, a quiet residential back street, is now being used as a u-turn facility for 87 buses a week,” Mr Holswich said.
“Once again, through a lack of consultation and poor planning, more Pine Rivers residents have been adversely impacted by Labor’s botched bus route changes in Pine Rivers.
“There isn’t even a bus stop in the 700m long street and nor do residents want one. The buses just travel down Samsonvale Rd and use Kentwood Drive to turn around and head back the other way.”
Mr Holswich said that residents’ concerns had been treated with a wall of silence from Translink and Labor Government representatives.
“Residents have been looking for answers from Translink, their local Labor State MP and the Minister for Transport for over a month now. The only response they have received is an email from Translink nearly a month ago stating that the matter is under investigation. It’s not good enough.”
This latest issue follows on from issues with Lawnton and Bray Park residents losing their bus services that linked them with essential medical services and Westfield Strathpine.
“That issue was only resolved after a large group of residents and I fought hard to get their bus restored.”
“This issue is just the latest in a long line of failures this Labor Government has racked up in the Pine Rivers region in recent years.”
“Bus routes, removal of express train services, 13 months to get the AJ Wyllie Bridge rebuild moving – you just can’t trust Labor to take care of Pine Rivers.”

“As I have done previously, I will continue to fight for the issues that are important to Pine Rivers. This is an important issue for the residents of Kentwood Drive and I will fight on their behalf until it is resolved.”
“As part of a Campbell Newman LNP Government, I will fight hard for the residents of Pine Rivers and ensure they get the public transport services and consultation they deserve.”
