The Liberal National Party (LNP) has opened nominations for the next federal election in the seats of Blair, Moreton and Oxley.
Prospective candidates are invited to submit an application for endorsement as an LNP candidate, which is available from LNP headquarters, by close of business Friday, 1 June.
LNP State Director Brad Henderson said Queensland would play a key role in determining the outcome of the next federal election and the party was determined to ensure it presented Queenslanders with the strongest team of candidates.
“If you want to serve your community, if you share the LNP’s vision and values, and if you want to contribute to building a better future for your nation then we want to hear from you,” Mr Henderson said.
“Australia’s future depends on us defeating Julia Gillard government’s of Labor, Greens and Independents at the next election.
We’re looking for people who can help us do that; people who will work hard for their communities and play a key role in a new Coalition Government that will restore hope, reward and opportunity and get Australia back on track.”
Mr Henderson said the party had been very encouraged by the strong response it had received to a call last month for expressions of interest from prospective candidates for the 10 seats held by Labor and the Independents in Queensland. Those people would be invited to submit a formal application for endorsement.
Others who may not have submitted an expression of interest but now wished to apply for endorsement as an LNP candidate for the seats of Blair, Moreton or Oxley should contact LNP headquarters for an application form on 07 3844 0666 or via email email@example.com.
