Grehan endorsed for South Brisbane by-election

The Liberal National Party has endorsed Mr Clem Grehan to contest the South Brisbane by-election.

The by-election is necessary as a result of former premier Anna Bligh’s decision to quit State Parliament after Labor’s defeat at last weekend’s general election.

“Ms Bligh’s resignation represents another broken promise and shows that Labor takes the seat of South Brisbane for granted,” LNP State Director Brad Henderson said.

“What this by-election does offer the people of South Brisbane is the opportunity to secure a strong local voice within the new LNP government.

“By supporting Clem Grehan, the people of South Brisbane can send a message to Labor and help Premier Campbell Newman and his LNP team get Queensland back on track.”

Mr Grehan was endorsed at a meeting of the LNP State Executive today.
