Modern technological innovations have the potential to deliver real benefits for special needs students. Tablets, in particular, allow challenged students to access electronic learning to improve their reading and writing ability.
The LNP in Government will provide tablets for use by students with special needs directly to State Special Schools, State Schools and non-Government schools with special education programs.
The LNP is committed to working hard to cut the cost of living for Queensland families. The tablet technology provided through this program, in conjunction with existing desktop computers, will ensure the children with greatest needs do not miss out.
iPads or comparable tablet technology are already providing some fortunate students with access to innovative teaching apps and solutions. This program will extend this opportunity to students and schools who otherwise would be unable to afford it.
An LNP Government will supply each state special school with 20 tablets and each state school or non government school offering a special education program will also receive 10 tablets.
The tablets provided by this program will become the property and responsibility of the school to be covered under their existing IT provisions and for connection with the school's existing internet.
The LNP is committed to revitalising frontline services and providing opportunities for all Queenslanders to reach their full potential.
These special need students desperately need access to the best technology that only a change of Government will provide – with your help the LNP will get Queensland Back on Track.
