Fiona Hammond endorsed as LNP candidate for Stafford

12 November 2023

Local Brisbane Councillor, Fiona Hammond, has been selected as the LNP candidate for Stafford for the 2024 state election.

“Over the past 15 years I have worked closely with residents and community organisations as a local councillor,” Mrs Hammond said.

“What I’m hearing loud and clear is that people want a state government to take real action to reduce the cost of living and energy prices, to improve access to health services and to ensure we have infrastructure that keeps pace with our growing population.

“I’ve seen firsthand how much work Brisbane City Council have done to maintain and improve our road network, but I also know they can’t do it all alone. They need state and federal governments to do their fair share.

“It is clear that this tired, Palaszczuk Labor Government is out of ideas on how to address the issues that matter most to Queenslanders.

“I look forward to working with David Crisafulli and the LNP team to deliver for our community.”

LNP Leader David Crisafulli welcomed Mrs Hammond to his growing team.

“Born and bred on Brisbane’s northside, Fiona has served her community for many years as a Councillor and community advocate,” Mr Crisafulli said.

“People are Fiona’s passion, and she has been relentless in improving the lives of locals through her work to improve parks and infrastructure and to preserve the environment.

“I look forward to working with her to address the cost-of-living challenges faced by her community, improving access to health services and providing the infrastructure the northside desperately needs.

“Less than a year out from the next election, the LNP is listening and focused on the issues that matter most to Queenslanders.

“We will show we are ready to govern with the Right Priorities for Queensland’s Future.”
